The Year That Was, And What 2017 Awaits

It's been a crazy ride in 2016. Legends were lost, legends were born, and a new era began. Yep, I guess you can say that 2016 was the year of change in the world.

Let's not forget, not all change was good. We lost very talented people, like Gene Wilder, David Bowie, Muhammad Ali, Leonard Cohen, Prince, just to name a few. These people changed the world in a small way, but they were unique. And in this post, I salute them in the best way I know how.

To the people who we lost: we applaud you for what you brought to the world. You made us happy, entertained, and joyful. Some of you made us be in tears with laughter, others made us be in tears of sadness. You won our hearts by being who you were, and we reflected that back to you.

Your presences will be missed but your gifts will live on. And we will remember you forever.

And you have inspired a whole generation to pick up were you left off. Now, it's time to turn the page, and write a brand new chapter in history. To follow your footsteps. To make known the unknown, and create something new and just as inspiring to others around us.

So we say farewell to you, as you leave for another journey. As a friend of mine once said: greatness comes with a great mind. I say that it's what you do with it that counts. In 2016, people have done amazing things.

So, what did I learn this year?

Well for me, I learn a lot about myself, and I got to know who I was a bit more. I did a stand-up comedy course, and I reeked the rewards of becoming a stand-up comedian. I'm proud to say I've done 2 gigs so far, and I'm invited to do another gig in the new year.

I also learned that it's okay to be myself. I'm happy just the way I am, and I reflect that on other people. And I didn't used to accept that, but now that I do, I see that in myself, and I love me. Furthermore, I've started to see it in other people around me, and I admire them for who they are.

In conclusion to this post: everything I do in life is a rewarding experience. What others do in their own lives is up to them. My parents definitely gave me a kick in the pants this year. Was I happy about it? At first, no. But boy am I ever-so happy that they dd now! And I owe them everything they dd for my well-being. And even though I have got a long way to go yet, I'm doing better in my life, even when I struggle.

Thank you for your support, thank you for putting up with me, and here's to you!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!
